Nā 'Aikāne Cultural Center of Lahaina Information
The Nā ‘Aikāne o Maui Cultural Center took over the space at 562A Front Street in the Historical District 1. The building was “a soup kitchen for plantation workers and their families during the ILWU historic strike against the Pioneer Mill.” In that same spirit, we continue to feed our people, mind, body, and soul through good times and bad. Some services we provide are:
- 'Āina Research
- Mo'okū'auhau (Genealogy)
- Cultural Workshops
- Hawaiian Traditions & Customs
- Meetings & Outreach
Support Nā 'Aikāne and the Lahaina Cultural Center
Nā ‘Aikāne o Maui has been instrumental in the relief and recovery efforts from the Maui wildfires on August 8th, 2023. Even though the Community Foundation lost the Lahaina Cultural Center in the fire, we had a distribution center set up two days after the tragedy. We continue distributing supplies, serving as Cultural Monitors, running educational programs, and serving the neighboring islands. If you feel compelled to contribute, there are various ways for you to do so.
